Through reflective inquiry, we gain clarity on where we are reactive and thereby resistant to life. Resistance comes through in a story that argues with reality, often clouded with critical judgment, assumptions and expectations. It is the result of a mind at war with itself, which materializes as stress in the body. One of the many reasons why resistance is often viewed as the cause of all dis-ease.
We have power over any situation when we remain non-resistant, because we are no longer pushing against it. We stop adding energy to the situation. As the mind lets go of expectations and the illusion of control, it ceases to argue with reality. This is our natural, child-like state of being, as it embraces the unknown with curiosity and an open heart. The mind remains fluid and inquisitive, with an ability to see multiple perspectives simultaneously.
A daily practice of silence, is perhaps one of the best tools for shifting into this state of being.
